Today I had a Zoom catch-up with Ian Lavery, MP for Wansbeck and a long-standing supporter of SENRUG. We discussed the Ashington Blyth & Tyne Line (Northumberland Line) and our aspirations for further extensions once the core route is finally re-opened, and the proposed local service to Berwick which would radically improve service at Pegswood in the Wansbeck constituency, allowing regular commuting from that station. Ian is also aware of some of my community activities outside of SENRUG and he asked me about those and how they have been affected by the COVID crisis.
