Absolutely delighted with today’s announcement re £34m funding from the government for the next phase of work for this scheme. This is a significant funding package and clearly indicates the government intention to fully deliver the project. The remaining money is expected to be released once the planning consents have been achieved, and we should see passenger trains running in 2024. See SENRUG’s Press Release here.
