European Passenger Federation

Today I was presenting SENRUG’s 18 year campaign to get the Northumberland Line re-opened at EPF’s annual conference in Barcelona. I flew out via Paris, back via Amsterdam, and was nervous of missing connections, but all went well. Except after booking, KLM pushed the time of the return flight back by half an hour so it now misses the last bus from Regent Centre back to Bedlington – so my long suffering wife was summonsed for a late night pick-up from the airport. But what a good job I rejected the other options of train to London then cheap flight from Gatwick, or flying from Edinburgh. With rail strikes on both outward and return days, I really would have been stuck! Great to be at the conference and to listen to the other talks and share experiences with European colleagues.
