Today, I was invited to a very low key event at Newsham station to celebrate that over 2 million passengers have now been carried in the Northumberland Line. I was told the milestone had actually been passed a few weeks earlier in September. Fantastic achievement, and I’m also pleased to note the County Council are now seriously looking a extending the line to Newbiggin, something that has always been one of SENRUG’s campaign objectives.
