Today I was interviewed over Teams by Wandi Chivaura from the European Passenger Federation, who is working on EPF’s contribution to a European research and innovation project coordinated under EU-Rail (Europe’s Rail Joint Undertaking, the EU partnership for rail research and innovation). Wandi wanted my views on success factors for revitalising and reopening regional railway lines, including lessons learned from long-term campaigns, and I was delighted to assist. SENRUG is affiliated to Railfuture, and I was previously Railfuture’s delegate to EPF and the request follows a presentation I gave on the Northumberland Line to the EPF AGM in Barcelona a couple of years back.
