Tonight I gave a talk to a local branch of a political party. Something SENRUG has often wondered if it would ever be asked to do, and my first visit ever to a political meeting. SENRUG of course is not politically aligned and I asked the party in question to confirm they accepted that giving the talk did not imply that either I personally or SENRUG agreed with that particular party’s views or policies. SENRUG will ask any political party to agree to this condition before giving a talk. However it was a great evening and 5 attendees joined SENRUG afterwards. Subsequently I have been asked to give a talk to a different party – this will be on 9th Feb.
