Also today, I chased the County Council to find out what has happened to SENRUG’s proposals to create an extra 80 parking spaces, first submitted on 17th April. Did the Council use the opportunity of the planning application for the station building redevelopment to ask the Developer to contribute towards the cost as SENRUG had suggested? The development will itself reduce the number of parking spaces for rail customers as some must be allocated to the new business units. I have a feeling that the transport team, car parking team and planning team simply don’t talk to each other. Let’s hope I’m wrong.
