Blyth-Bebside station will open on 19th October. Also, in response to lobbying from SENRUG, from the December 2025 timetable train, there will be a later last train from Newcastle to Ashington (on Monday to Saturdays) departing Newcastle at 23:18. However the December timetable change also sees a massive reduction in LNER trains at both Morpeth and Berwick; all SENRUG’s protests and lobbying have fallen on deaf ears. The December change also sees the Morpeth – Carlisle trains terminated at Newcastle, though on Sundays, Northumberland line trains will continue to MetroCentre.
