It was fascinating to hear about the day to day operations, ranging from signalling, trespassers, weather, mud slides and overhanging vegetation, how Network Railway stands ready with an army of maintenance teams to deal with whatever arises and wherever it may be. Then of course we moved on to some more specific issues for Northumberland, with questions on the SENRUG aspirations for new routes, services and stopping patterns and the need to improve capacity through Newcastle station. there were a few points that Jason took away to consider further and we hope to have a 1 to 1 follow up meeting with him in about a month&#8217;s time.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Tonight we had a really interesting public meeting with Jason Hamilton, The Route Director for the North and East.
