Also, in response to lobbying from SENRUG, from the December 2025 timetable train, there will be a later last train from Newcastle to Ashington (on Monday to Saturdays) departing Newcastle at 23:18. However the December timetable change also sees a massive reduction in LNER trains at both Morpeth and Berwick; all SENRUG&#8217;s protests and lobbying have fallen on deaf ears. The December change also sees the Morpeth &#8211; Carlisle trains terminated at Newcastle, though on Sundays, Northumberland line trains will continue to MetroCentre. Sunday Northumberland line trains still won&#8217;t call at Manors.
