We had a very useful catch-up, including progress on the Northumberland Line, where construction work is continuing with completion expected late 2023 or early 2024, even though we\u2019ve yet to have the final funding announcement. We also discussed further extensions to the core Northumberland Line project, where I was pleased to note the Council\u2019s and SENRUG\u2019s aspirations are virtually identical, along with prospects for developing the Newcastle \u2013 Berwick local service proposal, passenger rail services to Cambois and better rail connectivity to Newcastle Airport.
