Following Network Rail’s announcement that £3.25 billion is to be spent improving stations (see press release below)
http://www.networkrailmediacentre.co.uk/content/detail.aspx?ReleaseID=4800&NewsAreaID=2
They now have an online survey taking place at which you can select your local station, and say how it needs to be improved. This is at:
http://www.networkrail.co.uk/aspx/6063.aspx
It would be helpful if as many people as possible could log in and state Morpeth / Cramlington etc as their local station and say we need things like live train running information.
The survey only runs until 31 Dec 2009, but one lucky winner will receive £2,000 so perhaps that thought will tempt you away from your cold turkey over the Christmas break.
NB: There are some anomalis in the survey: – it uses the phrase “information to plan your journey” which I think is ambiguous. For advance journey planning, Morpeth & Cramlington do have timetables etc. But they lack Customer Information Systems for on the day knowing what is happening.
- you can say you want a “range of cafes / hot drinks outlets”. Probably an overkill for Morpeth. Just one would be nice.
But you can use the comments field to make further clarification of your points.
Happy Christmas to you all
Kindest regards
Dennis Fancett
